eVisa Support

Help with your UKVI account and digital immigration status.

For people whose immigration status is held as an eVisa rather than a physical document.

Biometric residence permits have been replaced by eVisas, and since 1 July 2026 UKVI no longer issues visa vignettes to successful new applicants. Your status is held digitally and you prove it through your UKVI account.

We can help with

  • Creating a UKVI account and accessing your eVisa.
  • Reporting errors in the digital record.
  • Updating passport, travel document and contact details.
  • Generating a share code for an employer, landlord or other checker.
  • Understanding what to check before you travel.

Keep your details current

A digital status linked to an old passport can cause problems at check-in. Update the record before you book travel, not afterwards.

How WLIS can help

  1. 1 We check that the route suits your plans and that the matter is a straightforward one within our IAA Level 1 authorisation.
  2. 2 We review your eligibility and your documents, and explain plainly anything that needs attention.
  3. 3 We give you a document checklist written for your circumstances rather than a generic one.
  4. 4 We prepare the application form and supporting documents, and you check and approve the final information before anything is submitted.
  5. 5 We help with submission, biometrics or identity steps, and your eVisa and UKVI account after the decision.

What we can and cannot help with

We provide advice and application assistance for straightforward immigration matters within our IAA Level 1 Immigration authorisation. Where a matter falls outside that authorisation — for example because it involves adverse immigration history, a discretionary or human-rights claim, an administrative review, an appeal or tribunal work — we will tell you and signpost or refer you to an adviser authorised at the appropriate level.

If an application is refused, we will explain the decision and whether any further work remains within our Level 1 authorisation. Where an administrative review, an appeal or other higher-level casework is needed, we will signpost or refer you to an appropriately authorised adviser. We do not provide appeal or tribunal representation.

UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) makes the final decision on every application. No immigration adviser can guarantee that an application will be approved.

Questions clients often ask

I cannot get into my UKVI account. What do I do?

Access usually depends on the email address and phone number recorded when the account was created, so the first step is recovering those. Where the contact details no longer exist, UKVI has a route to update them, which needs identity evidence. Deal with it before you need to travel, not at the airport.

My eVisa shows the wrong details. Can it be corrected?

Yes, and it should be, promptly. A wrong name, nationality, date of birth or condition can stop you boarding a flight, starting a job or renting a home. There is a process for reporting errors in the digital record, and evidence of the correct position needs to go with it.

Do I still need my biometric residence permit?

No. BRPs have been replaced by eVisas and are no longer proof of status. Keep any old card safe, though: it is useful evidence of the permission you held, which can matter in settlement and citizenship applications years later.
